Mikaela grew up always having a cat in the family to call her best friend and knew that one day she would dedicate her career to animal health and welfare. After high school, she spent many years traveling abroad and completing her degree in International Development. In 2015, she followed her passion for veterinary medicine and enrolled in the Veterinary Office Assistant program at Granville College, graduating with honorable distinction in 2016.
Mikaela is most interested in geriatric and palliative patient care for cats and enjoys helping owners discover the positive impacts they can make in their senior cats’ lives on a daily basis.
She thrives in facilitating a positive work environment for the team that allows for growth & development of individuals while providing excellent care to our feline patients!
She lives on the North Shore with her husband, their German shepherd cross puppy Ridley and their beloved senior cat Thomas. When they are not hiking trails with Ridley, she can be found snuggled up on the couch watching a good movie with Thomas. Mikaela is an avid movie lover and has a vast knowledge of movies and TV with over 1400 IMDb ratings completed. Her favourite movie is Titanic.
