Dr. Liz |
|
Born and raised on the North Shore, Liz has always had a passion for cats. Growing up close to a golf course she welcomed the many strays who wandered her way and with a father who loved cats as much as her, the furry family soon outnumbered the humans! One very special cat that came into her life was Juniper. This bright-eyed cat was truly a character
male, orange, loving and demanding - they were a team. And due to the curiosity of the cat he naturally spent a lot of time at the veterinarians. Managing to survive being run over and attacked by coyotes he finally succumbed to feline leukemia at 19 years old. But his spirit lived on and became a driving force behind Liz's dream. After extensive traveling and getting to know herself and the world better, Liz returned to school at the University of British Columbia where she studied Animal Science and was accepted at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She graduated from the WCVM in 1990 with great distinction and became an associate in a small animal hospital in Burnaby.
In 1993 she met the love of her life, Kevin, and in June 1994 they were blessed with a son. For three years she did locums working 2-3 days a week at various North Shore practices until 1997 when she joined a feline exclusive practice where she realized her niche. She loved the cats and the cats loved her. Her gentle manner and touch put even the most reluctant patient at ease. With her family growing and becoming a little more independent the dream of having a feline only practice suddenly became a reality. In January of 2001 Dr. Liz began to create her dream
this was to be a place where cats and their humans felt happy and content, where medicine and surgery would be delivered in a kind and compassionate way and where clients would feel comfortable to talk and ask questions. Dr. Liz attends feline only continuing education to ensure that she delivers the very best to you and your feline family. It is with great pride she welcomes you to All About Cats Veterinary Clinic. |
